Job Description:

Summary: Full time position in beautiful North County San Diego working with the underserved population at Neighborhood Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Health Center. Be part of a team of mental health professionals providing integrated behavioral health services in a primary care setting . We are a NHSC loan repayment site.

 

Required Experience:

Provides psychiatric medication management to patients in clinic under direction of Psychiatrist. Performs Mental Health Assessments and medication management visits within prescribed guidelines and instruction of Psychiatrist, and according to Neighborhood Healthcare practice protocols per the Psych NP Supervisory Agreement. Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient’s clinical problems and health care needs. Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment such as psychotherapy.

Experience and Skills:

Education: Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant. Current CA NP & RN license required or PA license. DEA license and CPR certification required. Completion of advanced pharmacology course, including II controlled substances required.

Skills: Experience with Psychiatric medication management required. Ability to provide care for patients with acute/chronic psychiatric conditions and furnish medications including controlled substances II-V required. Spanish speaking preferred.
