Job Description:

Summary: The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner primarily provides evaluation and medication management services.


Experience and Skills:


Skills:  Experience with Psychiatric medication management required. Ability to provide care for patients with acute/chronic psychiatric conditions and furnish medications including controlled substances II-V required. Ability to provide psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments to psychiatric patients. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.  Ability to work well with other team members. Good written and oral communication skills. Legible handwriting and minimal computer literacy, but familiarity with one or more word processing, spreadsheet or electronic medical records systems. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to provide courteous, caring, respectful, and helpful behavior to patients and staff


Education: Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) (Board Certified). Current CA NP & RN license required for NP. DEA license and CPR certification required. Completion of advanced pharmacology course, including II controlled substances required. 


Experience: The minimum training hours required to graduate from an approved psychiatry residency.
